{8 month baby portraits} My happy Ellie

I'm starting to see a little of Ellie's personality now. She is pretty mellow and easy to please but she does not like being left alone. She is at her happiest when she is surrounded by her sisters and mommy and daddy. She has MAJOR stranger anxiety still which I hope she outgrows soon because I need a break! I think this 8 month stage is the best though. She can sit on her own without falling over and she can't crawl yet so she can't get into too much trouble. I love you my Ellie belly!

Grey, Gray, Beige, Greige oh my!

I've been living with pale blue walls in my house for the past 3 years and I finally convinced my husband that we needed a change.  I actually really like the blue-gray color but it definitely turned out WAY bluer that we expected. I excitedly chose a bunch of colors that I thought would make our house brighter and warmer and rushed out to get samples. So now, I have about 8 different colors painted along both sides of my fireplace and in the loft. My kids think I'm crazy. They want to paint the walls too and are wondering why mommy keeps painting squares everywhere! What's driving me insane is that none of the colors look like the actual paint swatches when I paint them on the wall. My husband thinks I'm crazy too. I have various grays, beiges, and taupes splattered along several walls....the painters are coming tomorrow...yikes.

{Kiki's Birthday Favors} Cookie Favors | Party Favors

Kiki's birthday party favors surpassed all of my expectations. Sandra and Brenda created these cookie favors to match the Fish Tank theme of the party room.  The packaging was so creative - the waves even had edible sparkles for that extra special touch! They looked so cute I didn't want anyone to eat them! My kids had other ideas though and proceeded to eat the eyeballs off their cookies first. Thank you SO MUCH Sandra and Brenda for making Kiki's birthday stand out from the rest. Contact them at sandra@kuteideas.com to order your cookie favors!

Can't wait to see them - photos will be up as soon as I receive them.

Sneak Peek for Choi Family

I was so excited when J requested portraits in Half Moon Bay for her mother in law's birthday. We had never met before but we have a lot of mutual friends so I felt like I already knew her. Also, she is an extraordinary cook and without her blog my family would go hungry every day. Really.

The weather at the beach was a little chilly but the kids were troopers! Between 2 families, there were 6 kids ranging from 2-10 years old. All the kids were so sweet and cooperative and made my job easy!

Sneak Peek for Chua Family

I met the Chua family bright and early Saturday morning at a beautiful park in Palo Alto. My friend, Monica suggested we meet at Bol Park and it was a hidden gem with lush, mature trees and a creek. Living in a new community, all the parks around me have little wimpy trees and no shade! So, yes - I was in love with this location. The girls have grown so much since the last time I took their portraits back in 2008. I spent less time chasing after them this time! M's parents and P's parents joined in on the picture taking festivities and we headed out for J's 5th birthday party right after the session.  J & L are so lucky to have such fun grandparents.
